Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Anbumani Ramdoss termed the setting up of a campus of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Jhajjar a "milestone" in the development of Haryana. Addressing a gathering during "Bhoomi pujan" function and land transfer for the proposed AIIMS at Bhadsa village in Jhajjar, Ramdoss said the medical centre would not only prove to be a milestone in the development of Haryana, but would also create a special identity as a major Medical Campus of the country.
"Jhajjar AIIMS will be set up with an investment of Rs 1000 crore and will also cater to the health needs of the people residing in South Delhi , West Delhi , North-West Delhi and North Delhi , besides the people of Rajasthan, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh," Ramdoss said. he added that nearly a dozen health institutions like National Institute of Mental Health Services would also be established at Bhadsa.
he Minister also appreciated the efforts of Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and his MP son Deepender Hooda for getting the jumbo AIIMS project approved by the Centre. he Chief Minister, who was presiding over the function, requested Ramdoss for giving preference to Bhadsa residents while filling the non-technical posts for Jhajjar AIIMS so that they could get employment. The state government had also decided to give Rs 48 crore as compensation to the panchayat of Bhadsa village in lieu of the land that was provided for the establishment of AIIMS, the Chief Minister said.
