Valmiki community protest against 'Tiger Zinda Hai' in Rajasthan

Rajasthan saw massive protests against another Bollywood film, with members of the Valmiki community disrupting the morning shows of "Tiger Zinda Hai", a Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif starrer, in many cinema halls across the state on Friday in protest against the alleged use of a pejorative word by Salman during a promotional event. The protesters also filed a complaint at the Nahargarh police station.
The protesters alleged that Salman had insulted the Valmiki community by using "cheap language". Earlier, the protests started from Ajmer and soon reached Jaipur and Kota, leading to cancellation of the morning shows in several cinema halls of the film that released nationwide on Friday. The movie has been directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and comes as a sequel to Kabir Khan's blockbuster "Ek Tha Tiger". Earlier, protests had broken out against Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Padmavati" for allegedly distorting history.

Rajasthan government challenges Salman Khan's acquittal in Supreme Court

Rajasthan government has approached the Supreme Court against the acquittal of actor Salman Khan in two 18-year-old cases of deer poaching, a blow for the controversial actor who has had several run-ins with the law. Salman was acquitted by the Rajasthan HC on July 25 this year in the two cases - poaching of two chinkaras at Bhawad on September 26-27, 1998 and poaching of another one in the Ghoda Farm area on September 2829, 1998 in Jodhpur. 

In 2006, a trial court in Jodhpur had sentenced Salman to five years and a year of imprisonment in both cases respectively . The state's additional advocate general Shiv Mangal has now moved the Special Leave Petitions (SLPs) in the apex court. Additional advocate general K L Thakur, who represented the state in the HC at Jodhpur, recommended to the state government that the actor's acquittal be challenged before the SC.

Priyanka Chopra's 'Mary Kom' is tax free in Rajasthan

Priyanka Chopra starrer 'Mary Kom' has been exempted from entertainment tax in Rajasthan. The decision was taken by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje owing to the theme of the film which portrays the contribution of woman and youth for society Sports amongst people. The Assam government on Thursday announced exemption of entertainment tax on Mary Kom, an upcoming Bollywood movie on the World champion woman boxer from Manipur.
Based on the life of the Olympic bronze medal winner and five-time World boxing champion, the film is scheduled for release on September 5, 2014. Directed by Omung Kumar, Mary Kom stars Priyanka Chopra in the lead role. After being tax free in Maharashtra, UP, Assam, Jharkhand; Priyanka Chopra’s ‘Mary Kom’s has now gone tax free in Rajasthan too. A good news for sports & Movie lovers in state.

Jaipur Pink Panthers wins Pro Kabaddi League 2014

Jaipur Pink Panthers wins Pro Kabaddi League 2014 as they produced a clinical performance in the all-important final to emerge triumphant in the inaugural Star Sports Pro-Kabaddi League at the NSCI Stadium.   Abhishek Bachchan-owned Panthers scored a 35-24 victory in an action-packed summit clash in front of a full house with a number of celebrities in attendance. Maninder Singh started off well for the Panthers and secured 7 points followed by Rajesh Narwal (5).

Legendary actress Zohra Sehgal passes away at 102

Legendary actress Zohra Sehgal died in New Delhi at the age of 102. A Padma Vibhushan awardee, Sehgal breathed her last at Max hospital in New Delhi around 4:30 PM. "She died of a cardiac arrest this afternoon. She was unwell for last three-four days," daughter Kiran said. Sehgal would be cremated on Friday at 11 AM at the Lodhi Road crematorium. Sehgal, a vivacious personality, started her career as a dancer with Uday Shankar in 1935.
She had appeared in many Bollywood films as a character actor as well as in English language films besides television series and plays. Often called the grand old lady of Bollywood, she last appeared in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Saawariya" in 2007. A Padma Shri awardee, she also received the Padma Vibhshan in 2010. She starred in films like "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam", "Dil Se" and "Cheeni Kum" (with Amitabh Bachchan). She was a member of the Indian People's Theatre Association and in 1946 debuted in its first film production "Dharti Ke Lal", which dealt with the Bengal famine.

Udaipur SP manhandled my unit, alleges Pooja Bhatt

Pooja Bhatt, currently shooting for BAD with Randeep Hooda and Richa Chadda in Udaipur, has alleged that Udaipur SP, Hariprasad Sharma, got abusive with her film crew and manhandled them. Bhatt tweeted, "Horrific day in Udaipur today. The SP of Udaipur,Hariprasad Sharma barged onto our set,manhandled my unit and got extremely abusive."  She further wrote, "Why did the SP Udaipur behave in such an obnoxious manner? Because he was asked to wait for precisely 5 mins while we canned a shot." SP Hariprasad Sharma said, some of the unit members misbehaved with him when he tried to enter his office this morning. "I told them that this is my office, and you have not taken permission for this. I have not abused anyone personally. I only said that you are interrupting Govt’s work", the SP said.
The shooting for the movie has been suspended. Pooja Bhatt's film Bad is based on the life and times of serial killer Charles Sobhraj,  in which Randeep Hooda is playing the lead role. Directed by Prawaal Raman, of Darna Mana Hai fame, the film also stars Richa Chadha, who shot to fame with Gangs of Wasseypur. The central story of the film will revolve around how Sobhraj managd to escape from Delhi's high-security Tihar jail in 1986.

Sanjay Dutt gets more time today from Supreme Court (SC) to surrender. He gets 1 more month / 4 week time to surrender today. Actor Sanjay Dutt has moved the Supreme Court asking for a few more weeks before he is sent to jail. His case was heard today as sanjay Dutt has to surrender on or before April 18.

So finally sanjay dutt gets gets 4 Week time from court while he requested 6 week time from supreme court (SC). The court had on March 21 pronounced Dutt guilty under the Arms Act and reduced his sentence from six to five years. The actor has already spent 18 months in jail.

Minister Bina Kak sustains fracture during film shooting

Rajasthan tourism minister Bina Kak slipped and fractured her leg during the shooting of the film ''PK'' at Mandawa town in Jhunjhunu district. Ms Kak was participating in the shooting of a Aamir Khan starrer Hindi feature film when she suddenly got imbalanced and slipped. She was admitted to a private hospital. Ms Kak is playing the role of Aamir Khan's mother in the film and was shooting for past three days.

She will represent India at the Miss Universe 2012 pageant to be held in the month of December at Las Vegas. Shilpa has completed her B.
