BCCI call emergency meeting on IPL Season 2
BCCI has called for an emergency meeting of its all-powerful Working Committee in Mumbai on Sunday to take a final call on the IPL Season 2 which is under a cloud uncertainty because of security concern. The board is mulling over three options regarding the holding of the second edition of the Indian Premier League. This meeting may consider three options:
1. to truncate the tournament.
2. holding some matches in India and the remaining overseas(South Africa and England)
3. the third option is to call it off.
The meeting of the Working Committee has been convened urgently following the cloud of uncertainty over the lucrative Twenty20 event because of security concerns as it clashes with the Lok Sabha elections. After the Working Committee meeting, the BCCI will talk to the franchise owners before a final decision is taken. The meeting has been called in the wake of reservations expressed by many top state police officials over providing security to the high-profile TWenty20 League, in which matches, to be held at many centres, clashed with the Lok Sabha elections.
