Akshay Tritiya, Child Marriage, People and Rajasthan Govt.

Akshay Tritiya or Akha Teej, an auspicious day for marriages is near, State government has taken adequate measures to keep a watch on instances of child marriages in various part of rajasthan with Child Marriage Restraint Act. Child marriage are one of the main issue in western region of Rajasthan, especially in the rural areas and OBC/SC/ST communities. Community accept child marriage so it is tough to prevent child marriage. Many lows and punishments are implemented by Center and state government in last 20 years. State government is unable to prevent child marriage in last 20 year. Akshay Tritiya falls on May this year. This occasion is believed to bring good omen, when one does not need to consult an astrologer for a “shubh muhurat”.
This year to prevent child marriage is more tough as of general election are near and police force is engaged in election work, those who are willing to get their children married, can take full advantage of it. Government officials, the administration takes the help of government employees in the rural areas to get information about child marriages in their respective region. This is high time when Government employees such as hospital staff, Gramsewak, patwaris and teachers have to take initiative to tackle this evil out of state. There is only one solution, educate people. Hundreds of NGOs are working to prevent child marriage but all in vain as child marriage have political support. Politician use marriages during akshay tritya as platform to interact more people and get support. There are many lows against child marriage but where is implementation..? Govt should implement these lows and stop child marriage. Child marriage is one of the cause of female death and lack of education in woman. Government have implemented many schemes to encourage woman education and people are really utilizing these scheme, so educate rajasthan to prevent child marriage and make rajasthan a better place without any social evil.
