Longest Tunnel by Delhi metro at Khan Market Complete

Delhi Metro is known for his world class work and quality of work done by DMRC in last 5 year. Delhi metro added one more milestone in his construction by completing the construction work of its longest ever underground tunnel at Khan Market by a single boring machine, that too in a record time span of 152 Days.
The tunnel, with a length of 1.775 kilometres, is part of the under construction corridor between Central Secretariat and Badarpur and is the longest ever constructed by single tunnel boring machine (TBM) in Delhi Metro, DMRC spokesman Anuj Dayal said. Currently, two 1.45 kilometre long tunnels constructed between Malviya Nagar and Hauz Khas were the longest tunnels. A total of 1,227 rings were installed for the construction of the tunnel, which is a part of the 2.53 km long Central Secretariat - Khan Market stretch. This in turn is a part of the under construction Central Secretariat - Badarpur corridor of the metro. The tunneling work for this stretch was started on November 21st, 2008. The Central Secretariat - Khan Market stretch of 2.53 kilometers is actually the longest distance between any two Metro stations under Delhi.
