In an effort to improve basic infrastructure and provide quality services to people, the state government is planning to involve private players in key areas like drinking water supply, roads, health and education. Soon, Udaipur will become the first city in the state where the drinking water supply system will be privatised. Principal advisor to Planning Commission, Gajendra Haldia, who met senior officials of state government here, said the Commission is giving final touches to a proposal for private participation in social sectors like health and education. Nearly 2,500 new schools under PPP model are in the pipeline in the country as government plans to involve private players for the management of schools.
