Even as the Delhi Metro Railway Corporation (DMRC) is yet to submit its final project report over the feasibility of Jaipur metro rail, the government has approved an in-principle route plan for the project. As per the proposal, two corridors — North-South (15.5 kilometres) and East-West (13.5 kilometers) — totallying nearly 30 kilometers, will be laid across the city at an estimated cost of Rs 8,000 crore. This will include both underground and elevated tracks. The East-West corridor will be from Ramganj to Mansarovar passing through Badi Choupar, Choti Choupar, Chandpole, Ajmer Road, Gopalpura Bypass and New Sanganer Road. This corridor will be similar to the one proposed earlier. A nine-km elevated track connecting Chandpole to Mansarovar be the first to be completed. However, the North-South corridor earlier proposed between Jawahar Circle and Jal Mahal has been changed. As per the new plan, the corridor will connect Sanganer to Panipech. An elevated track will start from Sanganer, passing through Durgapura, B-2 bypass, reaching JLN Marg and then Bajaj Nagar. From here it will take a turn to reach Tonk Road. It will reach Ajmeri Gate and will shift to underground tunnel to reach Sindhi Camp and then cross Bani Park. From there it will once again shift to elevated tracks to reach Panipech.

ReplyDeletei agree with what swarn has said above.
ReplyDeleteI am planning to settle down on kalwar road in near future and am really interested to know as to what govt. is planning for metro plans to cover Kalwar Road also.
I am also agree with the query / suggestion by Mr.Swarn and Mr.Avinash Gajrani that much much need to metro route coverage on Kalwar Road area from Jhotwara circle upto Kardhani Govindpura. Hope its to be fulfill in near future.
ReplyDeletewhat is our planning .
ReplyDeleteis it to increase more crowd in already crowded places
or to develop all the parts of city and connect them with reasonable good roads and other communications
One side we talk about the importance of our Pink City for it's historic value and historical buildings and monuments and other side, this little city is about to be invaded by Metro. Having a test drive for a metro route is one thing but continuous digging, drilling etc and regular metro routes after-wards might and most probably harm these valuable assets with the underground silent vibrations of metro and other heavy machinery.
ReplyDeleteLooking at the proposed plan of Metro Jaipur, it seems that it has been made more into financial interests of authorities who so ever will be taking care of land acquiring process etc - rather than taking care of the needs of a common citizen of Jaipur. Investing huge amounts in Metro could have been avoided by little but honest efforts for "genuine" road repairs & renovations, implementing "genuine" law & order to control traffic situation & irregularities on roads, "genuine" improvement of State Transport/City Bus Services.
It seems like, we are welcoming another future SCAM in Jaipur but sure no real facility for common people!!!
