Pushkar fair 2009 a 7 days festival will be held on 25 October to 2nd November 2009. Introduced for the first time by the Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC) in association with Siyahi, the festival aims to add new shades of magical world of words to the multifarious culture of Rajasthan. The one-day event will bring authors like Namita Gokhale, Prasoon Joshi, Sheen Kaaf Nizam, Anuvab Pal, Tarun Tejpal, Aruna Roy, Jaideep Sahani, Ved Dan Sudhir and Aman Nath to meet and interact with the vast number of visitors during the Pushkar Fair.Besides there would be writers, poets, book lovers, publishers, performers and storytellers to add to the mesmerising riot of colours, textures, hues and flavours that come alive during this actionpacked week.
This rendezvous will help explore the meeting points between contemporary literature and folklore, oral traditions, legends, myths and languages, which define the spirit of Pushkar. With the backdrop of the Aravali Hills on one side and sand dunes on the other, the annual Pushkar Fair provides seven days of exotic travel through the royal luxuries blended with rustic beauty, spiritual solace, vivid colors of folk life, live performances, desert sports, and unique competitions.
About Pushkar Fair: The Pushkar Fair, is one of the world's largest camel fairs, held in the town of Pushkar in the state of Rajasthan, India.
