BJP Leader Digambar Singh will contest the BJP state president post against the Arun Chaturvedi. He said that the BJP believes in democracy and there was no bar in contesting the organisational polls and I am going to contest with majority support. "Chaturvedi and his men have manipulated voters' list in most of the districts and they have been prepared without following the proper election process," Singh alleged. This is the first time that a Raje camp loyalist has spoken openly against Chaturvedi, exposing the bitterness simmering in the two camps ever since the latter took over as the party chief in the state.
He said that Chaturvedi had tried to pre-fix his unopposed election even though the majority of the party leaders were not in his favour. "One-third of the party legislators also take part in the election for the party president and the legislators decided as which of them will take part in the elections but that exercise has still not be done. We have no clue as what exactly was being done in this regard," he said. He is known as Raje loyalist and He strengthened his position in the party further after defeating Bharatpur royal scion Vishwendra Singh from Deeg-Kumher seat during the assembly polls.
