Jaipur temp at 1.5 degree, cold freeze Mount Abu

With mercury dropping a degree below freezing temperature in Mt Abu (-1 degree Celsius), the state continued to be in the grip of a cold wave on Wednesday. As chilly winds swept across most parts of the state, Met department officials said similar weather conditions are expected to prevail over the next few days. “This is the effect of the north westerlies and will remain so for the next three days at least. After that, we might see some rise in the minimum temperatures,” said a Met department official.
While the chill continued, the minimum temperature in Jaipur shot up by 1.5 degrees and remained at 6.8 degrees on Wednesday. Next to Mt Abu, Dholpur was the coldest at 3.9 degrees, followed by Sriganganagar, Pilani and Sikar at 5.1, 5.5 and 6 degrees respectively. Ajmer recorded a minimum temperature of 7.6° Celsius, followed by Bikaner at Jodhpur at 7.7° Celsius and 7.8° Celsius, respectively. The cold and foggy weather disrupted normal life in most parts of the state and rail and road traffic was affected.
