CBI file case against Rajasthan STF

The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case against police officials of Rajasthan Special Task Force, Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad and others on the orders of Supreme Court to investigate Shohrabuddin encounter case. The Apex court has ordered the investigating agency to look into all aspects of the case relating to the killing of Shohrabuddin and his wife Kausarbi including the alleged possibility of a larger conspiracy. An Official release issued in New Delhi by the agency last evening said, the Supreme Court, while pronouncing judgement in a Writ Petition, filled by Rubabbudin Sheikh, directed the CBI to take up investigation of the alleged fake encounter.
About Shohrabuddin encounter case: In year 2007 Police of Gujarat state admitted on March 23, 2007 to the killing of an alleged extortionist"Sohrabuddin Sheikh" in a staged gun battle on November 26, 2005. The police at that time had claimed that the man, belonged to the Pakistan linked terrorist group Lashkar-e-Toiba and was planning to assassinate Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra modi, but later this case comes as fake encounter and now CBI is looking into matter.
