Seven member of a Family commit Suicide in Jaipur

Seven member of a Family commit Suicide in a village near capital Jaipur. A woman hit her father-inlaw in a blind moment of rage. The husband and wife pondered over the fact as the old man fought for his life in hospital. And then they decided: it was impossible to live with the burden of social stigma this rash act would surely bring on them. So, the couple killed two of their five children. And then took the three other kids along to all of them jump before a speeding train. The whole family of seven is now dead, but the old man, Prabhat Jat, who is now recovering in a hospital in Jaipur, has no clue that he has lost his son Bansi Lal, daughter-in-law Sita and grandchildren Babli (13), Shravani (11), Hansa (8), Kali (7) and Babu (5). The family hails from Jairampura village under Harmada police station in Jaipur district.
Villagers said Prabhat’s three sons – Bansi, Kanha Ram and Laxman—all live in the same village. While Bansi lived with his wife and children, Prabhat lived in a separate house with his two younger sons. The family is well-off and owns 15 bighas of agricultural land and cattle. SHO, Harmada, Dharamveer Singh said police are investigating the case while the motive behind the mass suicide is yet to be ascertained. However, he said that the reason behind the couple and three children going 3 km to commit suicide while giving poison to two others is being investigated.
