Nine IOCL officers nabbed for Jaipur Depot fire

Nine Indian Oil Corporation(IOC) personnel including then depot General Manager Gautam Bose, were arrested today in connection with the devastating fire at the oil giant's Sitapura depot here on October 29, 2009. The police arrested them in connection with the case of culapable homicide and criminal negligence on duty which had led to the tragedy which left 11 people dead, depot premises and many industrial units in the adjoining Sitapura Industrial area were badly damaged in the incident, a police spokesman said. A case in this connection was already pending in a local court here.
Besides Mr Bose, then Chief Operation Manager Rajesh K Chail, Senior Manager Shashank Shekhar, Terminal Manager KS Kanojiya, Deputy Terminal Manager Kapil Kumar Goyal, Operation Incharge Ashok Gupta, Pipeline Incharge SS Gupta, Valve Incharge KN Agrawal, and Senior Manager Mr Ojha were also arrested. They will be produced before the trial court tomorrow for hearing in the case lodged under sections 385,386,387,336,337,427,304A, 304-II and 166 of IPC, the spokesman said.
