Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has called up on Rajasthanis settled in different parts of the world, to help in finding out ways for fast progress and prosperity of the desert state. Addressing a function in New York organised by jewellers of Jaipur settled in US, yesterday, Mr Gehlot said "Rajasthanis residing in India and abroad should meet periodically on one forum at least once in every two-three years and discuss ways for speedy development and progress in Rajasthan". He said the first International Rajasthani Conclave was organised in the year 2000 in Jaipur during the previous tenure of this government.
The Chief Minister said Rajasthanis from India and abroad had taken part in that conclave and had discussed ways and means for putting the state forward on the path to progress. Mr Gehlot said over the years Jaipur had emerged as an important international destination. Praising the policies and the work of the UPA led Government at the Centre, he said because of the policies and actions of the government India had to suffer less on account of economic slow down as compared to other countries. Earlier,jewellers of New York felicitated the Chief Minister and other Ministers who presently were on a five day visit to the US.
