Pilgrims and BJP MLA Mohanlal safe in tibet

All efforts were being made for safe evacuation of BJP MLA Mohanlal Gupta and 18 other Mansarovar pilgrims from Rajasthan, who were presently stranded in Taklakot in Tibet due to bad weather. A CMO spokesman said here this evening that Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Chief Secretary S Ahmad and other high officials were in constant touch with concerned authorities in Tibet, Nepal, Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi and Indian Ambassador to Nepal Rakesh Sood and geared up to evacuate the stranded pilgrims as soon as weather conditions improve for air lifting.
The town where these pilgrims were stranded was safe and having all necessary facilities and there was no need to worry, he added. The Indian Embassy in Nepal had detailed three helicopters for pilgrims but two attempts made by these choppers to airlift them failed due to bad weather. The efforts would be made again as soon as weather conditions and visibility improved, he said adding that Chief Minister Mr Gehlot had also briefed about the situation to BJP leaders Ghanshyam Tiwari, Ramdas Agrawal and Kalicharan Saraf.
