The Police Commission system will come into force in Jaipur and Jodhpur by this year's end, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said today. Talking to reporters here, Mr Gehlot said the state government wanted to switch over to a new policing system in the two mega towns of the state at the earliest possible and he was sure that this would be done by December 31. The announcement for the police commissionarates was made in the state budget for the current fiscal earlier in March.
Besides this, several steps were being taken for modernisation and strengthening of the policing system, the Chief Minister said. These included recruitment of 7,300 constables, effective promotion of CLG and upgradation of the police training.
