Kashmir issue not UN business - Sashi Tharoor

Asserting that the Kashmir issue does not fall under the purview of the United Nations, Congress MP and ex-UN official Shashi Tharoor has said there are specific instances when the world body can be involved in a country's internal matters but Kashmir is not among them. "It's only in very unusual circumstances, when a country seems unwilling or unable to handle a particular domestic situation that a Secretary General even has an opportunity to offer his good offices," Tharoor told PTI in New York
