Rajasthan Royals the IPL franchisee demonstrated its commitment to Rajasthani Cricket by awarding the State team Rs. 10 Lakhs on reaching the finals of the Ranji Trophy by overcoming favourites Tamil Nadu. Chairman of JIPL, Mr. Ranjit Barthakur said “This is truly a historic feat and I take great pleasure in announcing a reward of Rs. 1 Million for the team on behalf of the Rajasthan Royals. This achievement will only help advance the development of the sport in the state of Rajasthan. I look forward to working closely with the RCA President Mr. C. P. Joshi and the RCA Secretary Mr. Sanjay Dixit to ensure that teams of Rajasthan, the Ranji team and the IPL team continue to make the people of Rajasthan proud.”
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sean Morris, CEO, Rajasthan Royals said, “We are extremely delighted that the Rajasthan team has reached the Ranji Trophy finals after 37 years. Having beaten favourites Mumbai and Tamil Nadu en route to the finals they have displayed the same qualities and spirit that characterize our team, the Rajasthan Royals. We have been very impressed by the talent on display and are looking at signing some of the boys for the IPL. We intend to invest in the players further by providing them exposure to top level competition and guidance of our captain and coach Shane Warne. We wish the team all the very best for the finals and hope to see them lift the prestigious Ranji Trophy for the first time in the history of this competition.”
