Vice President inaugurates Youth Festival 2011 in Udaipur

Vice President Hamid Ansari today inaugurated the National Youth Festival 2011 at a colourful ceremony here this afternoon in the presence of more than 5000 youth from different states of the country. The picturesque Lake City has been spruced up for the 5-day extravaganza inaugural ceremony attended by a galaxy of dignitaries including Rajasthan Governor Shivraj Patil and Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. Colourful march-past by participant teams, cultural programmes, spectacular cracker-firework and laser marked the occasion.
The 5-day annual event would be held simultaneously at seven venues in the city, will feature folk, classical dances, vocal and instrumental music performances and many more events. Food Festival at Shilp Gram will be another attraction in the festival. 28 stalls have been set up for dishing out cuisines from all over the country. An adventure camp is also being organised at the Railway Training Grounds.
