Ashok Gehlot targets BJP on Wikileaks

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot targeted the BJP for its "communal and saffron agenda" and said the latest revelations at WikiLeaks about Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley's statement on Hindutva, had exposed their view. Addressing an open session in the two-day convention of the Quomi Ekta Committee here this afternoon, Mr Gehlot said the saffron party had been known for its modus operandi of exploiting people's religious sentiments over different issues for political mileage. The Chief Minister said "they pretend to be advocates of Hindus and Hindutva but in fact they never bothered for people or issues but only aimed at attaining the power". "Latest revelations at WikiLeaks about Mr Jaitley's views about Hindutva, in which he had held that theocratic state and/or Hindutva are mere slogans for his party, has exposed the real face of the saffron party," Mr Gehlot said. Their goal and sole aim was to attain power, for which they did not hesitate even to play Ram Mandir card, or rake up issues of 'Gau Mata' and/or 'Gangajal', and fuelled/or engineered communal riots over these sticky issues, Mr Gehlot added.
