CBI raids to nab ADGP AK Jain

CBI sleuths have conducted raids at various places to search and nab Additional Director General of Police (Home Guard) A K Jain and Additional Superintendnet of Police Arshad Ali in respect of arrest warrants issued by Special Court here in Darasingh alias Daria "fake encounter case". An official spokesman said here today raids were carried out but both the officers were yet to be traced. The officials were also alert and present at the CBI Special Court here in view of possibility of surrender by the wanted cops.
Jain, a senior IPS, and Ali, a RPS officer, were summoned by the CBI officials on Sunday for interrogation in the case but they failed to turn-up and accordingly the due legal course was being taken, the spokesman said. Meanwhile, the state government has rejected Jain's application/letter for long leave sent by the officer by post the spokesman said, adding "accordingly, appropriate action is being initiated against Jain for his unauthorised absence from the duty". Another IPS IG(SCRB) A Ponnuchami had already been arrested on Sunday and is presently under the judicial custody till May 26. Four other police personnel had also been arrested a couple of months ago in connection with the case.
