Ashok Gehlot stresses on Right to Shelter Act

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot stressed upon enactment of Right To Shelter Act. Speaking at the conference of the Planning Commission and Chief Ministers of western states, for preparing 12th plan approach paper, in Mumbai, Mr Gehlot said when the UPA Government at the Centre was taking initiatives on welfare agenda with implementing laws like Right to Information Act, Right to Education Act and Food Security Law, it was high time that the policy makers thought of the need of bringing Right to Shelter(House) Act. Mr Gehlot said his government had set target to provide houses to needy people under the Affordable Housing Policy for which target of building and providing 5 lakh houses in 5 years was set.
Besides this, the state government was also working to provide houses to Below Poverty Line(BPL) families under Chief Minister’s Rural Housing Scheme for which the government had availed a loan of Rs 3,400 crore from Housing and Urban Development Corporation Ltd (HUDCO). He said on the lines of Rajiv Gandhi Housing Scheme, the Centre should also consider for rebate/relaxation in tax for the above scheme.

  1. Govt. of Rajasthan headed by CM Shri Ashok Gehlot is on the remarkable path of progress & betterment for poor, common man and for professionals. The balance equal distribution of his efforts for all and whole of Rajasthan makes CM Shri Ashok Gehlot a good CM. A house for all and at affordable approach will definitely fulfill the dream of poor & common man of Rajasthan.
    Strength & abilities of CM will surely make state strong & self-sufficient.

  2. Why govt always make only annocement while none work is done...what about law cost housing scheme of more than 10000 homes in rajasthan,,,politicians and now days going on bihar way..only annoucement...no work
