Yoga guru Baba Ramdev reaches his ashram in Haridwar. Baba Ramdev reaches Haridwar after landing in Dehradun by a private plane. Meanwhile, Baba Ramdev's key aide has claimed that police has "kidnapped" the yoga guru and sought the intervention of Chief Justice of India to ensure his release. Baba Ramdev's spokesman Tijarawala said that the protest was peaceful but police swooped down on those sleeping at the Ramlila Maidan and had taken him away. "I had never seen such an emergency-like condition in my life. We have not been told about his whereabouts and we are worried about his well being. The police can do anything to him," he said.
The dramatic police action came after the Centre and the 46-year-old yoga guru on Saturday night accused each other of betrayal on mutual assurances. Home Secretary GK Pillai said Baba Ramdev was being taken to his ashram in Hardwar after police in a midnight action quelled his mass hunger strike and dispersed thousands of his followers. "He is being taken to his ashram in Hardwar. He will be there by lunch time," Pillai said.
