Rajasthan Chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Sunday offered a chadder on behalf of Congress chairperson Sonia Gandhi on the 799th Urs of Khwaja Garib Nawaj. He was accompanied by Union minister Mukul Vasanik, C P Joshi, Union state minister Sachin Pilot and Mahadev Khadela. Sonia Gandhi’s message was read on the footsteps of the dargah which said, “The life of Khwaja Saheb inspire us for the Indian culture which is secular and teaches us humanity. He taught us brotherhood and communal harmony.” It said, “Let’s vow to take the path shown by Garib Nawaj.”
Gehlot also offered a chaddar and said that the life of Khwaja teaches us peace and harmony. A chunri and Tabarukh (a return gift) was given to Gehlot by the khadim of the Gandhi family, Gani Gurdeji. President of dargah committee Suhel Ahemad Khan and Nazim Abdul Majid Khan welcomed the chief minister. Devotees from across the country come to offer prayers here, most of them come barefoot. Devotees in buses have been reaching Kayar and Pushkar road vishram sthals and are walking all the way to the dargah to offer prayers.
