Rajasthan's Kshitij Singh top AIEEE in State

Rajasthan's Jaipur boys Kshitij Singh and Yash Mahanot secured all-India 3rd and 11th ranks respectively in the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE), results for which were announced by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), on Sunday. Besides, Divyam Bansal, who hails from Uttar Pradesh and came to Kota for his AIEEE preparation, has secured all-India 10th rank. In Rajasthan, more than 50,000 students enrolled for the exam which was conducted at 65 centres in Jaipur, Udaipur, Ajmer and Jodhpur. As many as 3,300 students took the test of architecture and planning. Kshitij Singh of Neerja Modi School, who scored 94.8% in Class XII, said. He is aiming for Computer Science at IIT-Mumbai. He owes his success to teachers and parents besides self-motivation.
The counselling would be conducted for entry in BE/BTech and BArch/BPlanning by the central counselling board -2011. Overall, 11,14,880 students enrolled for the exam out of which 10,65100 students appeared at 1,623 centres across the country.
Students who have cleared the entrance test will get colleges depending on their rank. This year 11 lakh candidates appeared in the AIEEE for admission in all National Institutes of Technology (NIT), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIIT), Delhi Technological University, deemed universities and a few institutes in states like Uttarakhand and Haryana.
