Rajasthan Medical colleges increases 150 Seats

Rajasthan Government Medical colleges increases 150 Seats in state for admission 2011-12. The Health Ministry and the Medical Council of India (MCI) have increased number of seats in the MBBS course in three state government run medical colleges in Rajasthan "Fifty seats each have been increased Jodhpur, Bikaner and Kota Medical Colleges", an official spokesman said here last night. While the proposal for increasing seats in Bikaner and Kota medical colleges was approved by the MCI a few days ago, the same for the Jodhpur Medical College was withheld and cleared yesterday after intervention from Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. Mr Gehlot had spoken to Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and sought his intervention for getting the seat increased for the 48-year old college, the spokesman said. "The seats are being increased from current 2011-12 academic session", he added.
