Rajasthan Cricket Association(RCA) Secretary Sanjay Dixit was "suspended" by president CP Joshi at a meeting held in Udaipur on Friday. Joshi has nominated K K Sharma as the "acting secretary". Dixit and Joshi has been at loggerheads for a long time now. The Joshi faction had fired first salvo by appointing Giriraj Sanadya as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) but Dixit brought in Mahesh Joshi as "Chairman" claiming support of 15 districts. The rift deepened further as Joshi faction held a meeting at Udaipur and with said support of 20 districts "suspended" secretary Dixit and handed over the charge to "acting secretary" Sharma. "There were 20 district representatives present in the meeting today and unanimous decision was taken to remove Sanjay Dixit from secretary's post. A five-member high power committee including Sharma, Somendra Tiwari, Mahendra Sharma, B.K. Upadhyaya and Giriraj Sanadya was constituted to look into the affairs of the RCA," Sharma said.
Dixit said the move was "unconstitutional." "Any representation from an association cannot be called official representation," Dixit said. "Many of the so-called representatives there did not even know that an RCA meeting would take place." Former RCA president, Lalit Modi, who had been ousted from the association by Dixit, welcomed the developments. "Dixit was ruining cricket in Rajasthan. Irregularities have become common in the RCA functioning," Modi said to TOI by mail.
