Saloni, Twinkle wins Silver in Biology Olympiad 2011

Rajasthan Girls shine in the International Biology Olympiad (IBO) which concluded yesterday at Taipei (Chinese Taipei). Indian students bagged four Silver Medals , Singh said. The winners are Pritish Patil from Nasik, Maharashtra, Saloni Kapoor from Jaipur, Rajasthan, Sanchit Kumar from Chandigarh and Twinkle Parekh of Kota, Rajasthan. The Indian team of IBO were felicitated today at the HBCSE, Singh added. Around 220 students from 59 countries participated in IBO.
Sonali Kapoor passed out from Maharaja Sawai Man Singh Vidyalaya, Jaipur. A week ago she hit the headlines for being the only one from Rajasthan securing a seat at All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS). "It was a most memorable experience for achieving success for the country at international arena,” said Kapoor, who plans to study medicine at AIIMS. She stood second in the International Biology Olympiad finals at Mumbai. Another achiever, Twinkle Parekh originally from Rajkot, Gujarat preparing for competitive exams in Kota won silver in the event. She almost missed gold by few points. “After this success my entire focus is on my dream to become a doctor in gynaecology.” said Parekh.
