Rajasthan International Folk Festival 2011 will starts in Jodhpur, Rajasthan from 12th October 2011. Every year the royal ‘sun city’ of Jodhpur welcomes musicians and performing artists from across Rajasthan and the world to come together and celebrate Rajasthan’s musical heritage at the annual Jodhpur RIFF (Rajasthan International Folk Festival). The festival, classically known as one of the most beautiful music festivals of India, is set against the splendid backdrop of the Mehrangarh Fort. Some of the most stimulating artistic performances that involve a delightful fusion of international and local artists are part of this festival. Guests can enjoy a variety of events including traditional dance forms, a jazz night, a Rajasthani night and some early morning ragas to soothe the soul.
Sponsored by Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces, the UNESCO-endorsed festival will return from 12th – 16th October this year, coinciding with North India’s brightest full moon. During this time, the Umaid Bhawan Palace, Vivanta by Taj Hari Mahal and The Gateway Hotel in Jodhpur will play host to world-renowned musicians and artists.
