
India's development assistance to Armenia covers human resource development and capacity building, agro-engineering, and several projects in ICT sector. India, with its experience in the field of ICT, and Armenia with its high IT literacy were natural partners, the Minister said. Armenian government is interested in development of cooperation with India in the field of tourism, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said during the meeting with Indian Minister of Communication and Information Technologies Sachin Pilot.
Minister of Communications and Information Technology Sachin Pilot also visited Armenian State Polytechnic University (ASPU) and was awarded with golden medal. ASPU chancellor Ara Avetisyan praised the IT sphere steps directed to the cooperation development between Armenia and India, ASPU press service informed Armenian News-NEWs.am. “Opening of the center in Yerevan will essentially support the education institutions to prepare high-qualified professionals in the IT sphere,” the chancellor stated. Avetisyan awarded Pilot with golden medal.
