Man Shoots himself in Girl's hostel of Engineering college at Jhalawar

A Engineering student of Jaipur based Pvt. Engineering college Shoots himself in Girls' hostel of Government Engineering College, Jhalawar. Upset over a fight with his girlfriend, a 22-year-old man Tuesday shot himself with a gun in front of police officials inside the girls' hostel of Government Engineering College in Jhalawar, police said. Lal Bahadur Singh had a tiff with his girlfriend who resided in the hostel, police said. He reached the hostel, fired in air and threatened the police officials with his gun before shooting himself to death, they said. "Singh was a resident of Dholpur district and studied at a polytechnic college in Jaipur's Kotputali area," a police officer, who did not want to be named.
He said the man barged into the hostel, around 330 km from Jaipur, in the morning. "As soon as he entered the building around 11.30 a.m., he started firing in the air. He had come to see the woman with whom he had a relationship but who had started to ignore him. However, the woman was not in the hostel that time," said the officer. Hearing the shots, the panicked hostel inmates rushed out of their rooms and informed the police. The police in an attempt to pacify the youth gave him another mobile phone to talk to his parents. The boy called his parents but they were not able to pacify him. The boy later freed the captive girl and after three-hour ruckus, shot himself in the head.  The police team immediately rushed him to the nearby hospital but he was declared dead on arrival by doctors. “The boy had fired a few shots in hostel premises before committing suicide. He wanted to meet the girl with whom he was allegedly in a relationship. He had created a scene in January also and that time he was put behind the bars. We rushed him to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The police have also recovered two empty bullet shells, along with the pistol, from the room while there were there live cartridges in the pistol. The family members of the boy have been informed and a post-mortem will be conducted after their arrival,” told Murli Dhar, SHO Jhalra Patan police station
