Pranab Mukherjee meets Gehlot in Rajasthan

UPA Presidential nominee Pranab Mukherjee on Thursday continued his campaign for the July 19 election in Rajasthan where Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, MoS IT & Telecom Sachin Pilot along with other leaders of the Congress party assured UPA nominee Pranab Mukherjee that he would get many more votes than the strength of the Congress in the Assembly from Rajasthan while opposition party BJP claim that there would be cross voting in the upcoming presidential elections. Most Congress leaders including the dissidents ruled out the possibility of cross voting in the elections. “There are no possibilities of cross voting. Even several BJP leaders can vote in our favor,” said Sachin Pilot, Union minister.
Gehlot said the results of the presidential elections were decided on the day Sonia Gandhi announced Mukherjee's name as UPA's candidate. "Mukherjee is an accepted candidate not just for the UPA but for the entire country. His victory is certain and the politics over the issue is rather unfortunate,'' Gehlot said. The total number of voters in the state for the presidential elections is 235, which includes 200 legislators, 25 Lok Sabha MPs and 10 Rajya Sabha MPs. The total value of votes from the state is 50,580.
