Bharat bandh on 20th September 2012

BJP-led NDA will hold a country-wide protest or "Bharat Bandh" on 20th September 2012 protesting against the central government's decision to hike diesel price and allow FDI in multi-brand retail. Announcing the alliance's decision here, BJP leader LK Advani said, "The NDA on Sep 15 decided to hold a nation-wide strike on 20th of this month. I am sure that the suffocation felt by the people for a long time is about to come to an end."
In a joint statement, SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav along with Left parties, JD(S), BJD and TDP alleged that the UPA government has "stuck cruel blows on the people one after another" by raising diesel price, limiting subsidised cooking gas, opening up of multi-brand retail and disinvestment of PSUs. "Let us all unite to stop these measures which will further burden the people and ruin their livelihood. Let there be a powerful protest on September 20 through hartals, picketing, demonstrations and court arrest programmes," the statement said. Besides Yadav, the statement was signed by H D Deve Gowda (JD-S), Prakash Karat (CPI-M), S Sudhakar Reddy (CPI), Naveen Patnaik (BJD), Chandrababu Naidu (TDP), Debabrata Biswas (Forward Bloc) and T J Chandrachoodan (RSP). BJP-led NDA separately announced that it will hold a nation-wide strike on the same day, September 20, to demand rollback of FDI in multi-brand retail and the Rs 5 hike in diesel prices.

Its funny ,Can anybody explained me what can be the impact of Bharat bandh on 20th Sep.?Hardly diesel price will fall Rs 2 to 3 /litre,or else LPG gas will be subsides will be increased from 6 to 8 .Nothing more than that will happen. The against parties should be aware that ,India can be a severe loss of more than million crores if India goes on strike for 1 day...

Earlier when petrol hiked they have done bandh after one week and now also the same.
WTF why can't they select the immediate day or the next to call for a bandh :(

  6. HI Boss. Already Govt decide if 2 or 3 increased fuel price that's enough. If Govt 2 or 3 price is increase opp party or public will not accept

After doing strike govt reduce 2 or 3 price per liter. BJP will say becoz of our strike GOVT reduce fuel price. Parallely CONG party will say DUE to public problem we reduced price (That's is political drama no one will stop this)

Another issues is Our country population nearly 125 crores everyday Vehicle user getting increase and also we are using fuels more than 20 to 25 times higher than these countries Like Pakistan, Bangladesh, Srilanka ,China)

Totally Bribe or Scam's (Tamil word: Ughazal)if completely stop our country will be good if continues same thing next 10 to 15 years we need wear underwear only in future

  9. I want to reply to pawan question. India might lose more money in one day strike than saving India might get in reduction in fuel price because of this strike. But the point is right to fight against central gov decision will be proven and this will create impact in forth coming central government decision.

    1. Strike will not be an essential tool to reduce fuel price. Its all about political drama.

  10. what will change with one day strike. Neither govt. will decrease the fuel price nor these politicians will stop their political drama. Now UPA govt. is there so NDA is doing all this things but check the history...how many movement NDA govt. had taken during their tenure to change India's economic status. The seed which they have planted now has become a huge tree.

  15. band is good but we should get a result after band then only we will get a result otherwise local people will suffer

  16. best thing is stop paying taxes
one person doesnt pay govt will arrest
also if 100 people doesnt pay they will still arrest them
what if the whole state doesnt pay the taxes?
what is govt going to do?
i know India is going to bear huge losses,
but for future big profits we have to loose something today

  18. Politicians should solve pepoles burden bt thy should not increase by makg such bandhs.. if there is bandh there will be many loss to govt. Again they will start increase all the prices and people will suffer.. Again they will start bandhs..without any bandh only they should solve problems and they should not include educational institutions in bandhs..
