Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rajya Sabha member Ram Jethmalani is back with his most controversial Remark over Lord Ram describing the hero of the Ramayana and Lord of Hindu Religion as a “bad husband.” Speaking at a function on Thursday to launch a book on man-woman relationship, Mr. Jethmalani said, “Ram was a bad husband. I don’t like him at all. Just because some fisherman said something, he sent that poor woman to exile.” He also took a jibe at Lakshman by saying he was “even worse.” “When Sita was abducted, Ram asked him to go and find her as she was abducted during his watch. Lakshman simply excused himself saying she was his sister-in-law and he never looked at her face, so he wouldn’t be able to identify her,” Mr. Jethmalani said.
Earlier, Jethmalani spoke against religion and said "today we are at the crossroads of the very fate of this planet. Religion has totally changed. Religion has produced terror. Religion has produced those who issue fatwas of murder...". The 89-year-old advocate is currently upset with the BJP and has been staunchly demanding the resignation of party president Nitin Gadkari over "dubious" funding of his company. On Wednesday he went on to say that he will carry on his fight against the BJP president but will not quit the party. His son Mahesh Jethmalani quit the BJP’s national executive as he was unwilling to work under Gadkari’s leadership. Gadkari earlier this week faced flak for comparing Swami Vivekanad and underworld don Dawood Ibrahim by saying that “the both had same IQ levels.”
