Arjun Modhwadia resigns as Gujarat Congress President

Arjun Modhwadia resigns from the post of president of Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) after losing election from Porbandar seat against Babu Bokhiriya of BJP and defeat of Congress in Gujarat today. Modhwadia, who was seeking third consecutive term from Porbandar constituency, was defeated by his BJP rival Babu Bokhiria by a margin of 17,146 votes. by a margin of 17,146 votes. Modhwadia, who had spearheaded a sustained and aggressive campaign against BJP, polled 60,458 votes while Bokhiria secured 77,604 votes. He said i take moral responsibility and send resignation to party chief in delhi, while central leader not accepting defeat in gujarat and busy in irrelevant comments in media like "this is not defeat of congress" !.
