Amitava Roy appointed Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court

Amitava Roy appointed Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court today. Governor Margret Alva administered the oath of the office to Justice Amitava Roy at a brief ceremony held at the Raj Bhawan, Jaipur. Amitava Roy's wife and son, Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot with other dignities were present on the occasion.
About Amitava Roy: Amitava Roy, Born on 1st March 1953 in Dibrugarh. He belongs to a family of lawyers. His father Late Anadi Bhushan Roy was a practicing Senior Advocate. His Father-in-law, Late Salil Kumar Dutta had been a Judge of the Calcutta High Court. He did his education at Dibrugarh. After completing post graduation in Physics from Dibrugarh University, did his LL.B. from the same University in 1976. Before joining rajasthan High court he was CJ of Guwahati High court.
