DMK withdraws support from UPA

DMK withdraws support from UPA on Tamil issue today announce party chief M Karunanidhi in press conference in Chennai and make a fresh demand insisting that Parliament adopt a resolution incorporating two amendments he had suggested to the government to be moved on the US-backed resolution at the UNHRC.
One of the amendments was to "declare that genocide and war crimes had been committed and inflicted on the Eelam Tamils by the Sri Lankan army and the administrators." The second one was "establishment of a credible and independent international commission of investigation in a time bound manner into the allegations of war crimes.  The government on Monday had said that a decision on India’s stand on the US resolution on Sri Lanka at the UN Human Rights Council will be taken only after a discussion with Mr M Karunanidhi.
