6% DA hike from 1st January 2016 for Rajasthan Govt Employees

Rajasthan state government on Wednesday announced 6% hike in the Dearness Allowance (D.A.) of the State Government employees. Dearness Relief (D.R.) for the pensioners has also been increased by 6%. The D.A. hike would be effective from January 1st, 2016. The prevalent D.A. of the State Government employees was 119% and after the increase it will now be 125% of the basic pay. Nearly 8 lakh employees and 3.5 lakh pensioners would be benefited by this increase in D.A. and Dearness Relief. D.A. hike would also be applicable for the work charge employees, employees of the Panchayat Samitis and Zila Parishads.
The increased D.A. would be paid in cash from April 1st, 2016. The Arrears on account of the increased D.A. from January 1st, 2016 to March 31st, 2016 would be credited in the GPF accounts of the employees appointed before January 1, 2004 while the arrears of the hiked D.A. for January, February & March months would be paid in cash to the employees appointed after January 1, 2004. The increased Dearness Relief to the pensioners and family pensioners would be paid in cash. Six percent increase in D.A. would cost the state exchequer Rs. 1120 crore additional annually in the current financial year.
