India's Deepika Kumari has equalled the World Record in the Women's Recurve event at the qualifying stage. The 21-year-old tallied a score of 686 out of 720 in the qualifying round of the Shanghai World Cup, thereby equalling the record, held by Ki Boe Bae of South Korea.
Jo Areum of Korea finished second with a score of 676 while Lisa Unruh of Germany finished third with a score of 672. Kumari had a total of 346/ 360 at the mid-interval and required 343 to break the record, but eventually equalled the tally by the Korean, who did so at the World University Games last year.
