Lalit Modi, IPL Chairmen and RCA President was on Sunday charged with misappropriation of funds, which were meant for disbursement among Jaipur serial blast victims. He has been charged under Section 420 of the IPC and an FIR has been filed at the Jyoti Nagar Police Station in Jaipur.
Nadrik Morcha, a Jaipur-based social organisation has alleged that Modi has been charged along with the then Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje. Morcha has also alleged that the IPL commissioner had assured to give them and other social outfits Rs 6 crore from the proceeds of the IPL May 17, 2008 match.
However, Lalit Modi had given a cheque of Rs 6 crore to the then Chief Minister. But neither the amount was duly credited to the social organisations nor was it disbursed among the victims.
Modi is also President of Rajasthan Cricket Association and is known for high proximity with Ms Raje. He is facing charges of forgery in a land deal in Nagaur district and internal rebellion within the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) executive body
