30 March Celebrated as Rajasthan Day in Jaipur and whole state

Rajasthan state celebrate today 60th Rajasthan day in Jaipur and whole state. Jaipur City will come alive with Air show, folk dances, rural sports and a theatre festival for a whole week from 24 March to 30 March. Rajasthan Day celebrations present the state's rich culture and crafts.

Rajasthan was formed on 30 March 1949, when all erstwhile princely states ruled by Rajputs, known as Rajputana, merged into the Dominion of India. The only difference between erstwhile Rajputana and Rajasthan is that certain portions of what had been British India, in the former province of Ajmer-Merwara, were included. Portions lying geographically outside of Rajputana such as the Sumel-Tappa area were given to Madhya Pradesh. To remember history and achivements in last 60 Years.
