However, some of the players attached to this league feel the other way. One of among them is former New Zealand all-rounder Chris Harris. Despite the postponement of the World series and delay in releasing the players’ wages, former Kiwi player said the rebel Indian Cricket League (ICL) was in no financial trouble.
Recently, organisers of the unsanctioned Twenty20 league cancelled their proposed World Series tournament, which had been scheduled to start in March and will now be played in October this year. It is believed that ICL owner Subhash Chandra had written a letter to the players asking for patience and promising all wages would be paid.
Commenting over this whole matter, Harris said, “Payments have always been a little bit slow coming out of India. It's always been the way. To be honest, I'm not concerned at all because the payments have always arrived until this point in time. We've been told the next payments will be coming through this week. They've never not paid us before.”
