Chandersh kumari, Congress candidate from johpur get royal welcome at Jodpur Airport making a big impact in jodhpur politics. There were hardly 500-600 people who turned up to welcome Chandresh, when she reached Jodhpur on Wednesday afternoon, the first time after her name was declared. This below par turnout of the party workers from the chief minister's constituency and his home town, has triggered a discussion among the citizens.
As she is part of roayal family, a huge welcome was expected but a less gathering cause worry amongs congress. Keeping their ties with the BJP aside, the royal family issued a statement pledging their support to her and appealed to the people of Jodhpur to contribute to her victory. Not even a single MLA from the assembly constituencies of Jodhpur, pradhans or sarpanchs came forward to welcome her. The entire scenario appeared to have sent a clear message that she is an outsider and has left the party workers dissatisfied with the choice.
A Rajput leader, Ram Singh Kharia said, "She is new here and does not know anybody and not many know her." Even the Rajput community appeared divided over her candidature. Many dedicated party workers said that there are some who want to damage her prospects and do not want her to win, which includes some established leaders as well.
