CM Ashok Gehlot meet the Muslim leaders of the state. The agenda was to discuss issues related to the social and educational development of the Muslims in the state. It was a meeting to address the representation of Muslims from the state in the upcoming general elections as they form 8.5% of the state's population.
M Manzoor Alam, general secretary, All-India Milli Council who had come to attend the meeting said the agenda was to talk about the participation of Muslims in all walks of life.
1. We have a three-point agenda for the meeting; first being the Muslim representation in the state, which limits not only to power, but goes beyond to all walks of life.
2. Secondly, we will talk about the political empowerment of the Muslims in the real sense
3. finally would like to work towards an unbiased environment that provides equal opportunity to every one.
While the minority leaders pitched in for Churu to be given to their candidate, there was an opposition raised by some.
