BSP after winning 6 seats in rajasthan during vidhansabha election 2008 is gearup in loksabha election. BSP is trying to enter desert state with elephant.
PCC chief CP Joshi mentioned about BSP and his vote bank. "We need to consider that in some regions, parties like BSP are increasing their footings and can't be taken lightly. In some places, their vote share is close to 10%," said Joshi, asking his fellowmen to strengthen the Congress' foothold across the state and secure a vote bank of above 40%, which, as of now, is the scenario only in Kota and Udaipur.
BSP can't be taken lightly in Bharatpur and Karauli-Dholpur region where they hold close to 20% strong votes. BSP on its part did announce two names on Friday, Shambu Singh Khelsar from Pali and Abdul Aziz from Nagaur, taking its tally to 14 after announcing 12 candidates for the Lok Sabha polls in September last year during the assembly elections. They plan to announce most of the remaining 11 candidates by April 3. "Most names barring a few will be declared by next week and we are hopeful of bringing up a few surprises, like the assembly elections," says Keshav Shukla, state secretary, BSP. Though the party might not be ablve to win substantial seats, it can always ruin the chances of both Congress and BJP candidates in election and will work.
