Parsadi Lal Meena under Election commision's Scaner for Mega feast

The mega feast hosted by cooperative minister Parsadi lal Meena at Mandavri in Dausa has come under the Violation of Election Commission Rules. The state election commission has forwarded a video and report of the event, which was held in violation of the panel's model code of conduct. The feast was organized on the occasion of tonsure ceremony of Meena's grandson on Thursday. It was reportedly attended by 20,000 persons, including chief minister Ashok Gehlot, home minister Shantilal Dhariwal and state Congress president C P Joshi.
State chief electoral officer Vinod Zutshi said that attempts to influence voters will not be permitted. "The election commission has, on earlier occasions, mentioned that attempts to lure voters through mega celebrations or monetary incentives must be curbed. Any events held on a large scale should be videographed," said Jutshi. "In the said incident, the district collector had submitted a report and video recording, which have been forwarded to election commission," he added.
Meanwhile, officials said that the commission has also taken up the case of another Congress leader education minister Mahipal Maderna. The minister had sported the beacon on his car during a recent visit to Pali, despite implementation of the model code of conduct. Maderna's case is the third instance of a minister being accused of violating the code of conduct. Previously, union cabinet minister of mines was accused of presiding over an inaugural ceremony.
