Its recession time but CM, Ashok gehlot want to play it another way, On saturday at Jaipur he inaugurated two more Special economic zones (SEZ) jaipur with Mahindra World City.
These SEZ is a joint venture between Mahindra Lifespace Developers and Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Industrial Corporation (RIICO).
The Rs 10,000-crore project is expected to generate one lakh direct jobs and 1.5 lakh indirect jobs, lease deeds for nearly 500 acres of land have already been signed that are expected to provide 72,000 direct employment facilities.
During the event, the SBI signed an agreement to establish its north India hub in the domestic tariff area of the SEZ. With ICICI Bank and Deutsche Bank already revealing their investment schemes and now SBI indicating huge plans here, the city is expected to make strides in the financial sector. "The city has huge manpower resources as large number of MBAs, commerce graduates and IT professionals are available here. We look forward to further expansion of our services in the city," said Gautam Kanjilal, chief general manager of SBI.
Speaking on the occasion, Gehlot urged the business community to take the general public along in their development plans. "It is necessary that the common public must be informed about the benefits of development projects so that unfortunate' incidents like Singur can be averted," he said, adding that those displaced due to mega projects must be provided employment opportunities there itself. So this is the first big step taken by Ashok gehlot for the industrial development of rajasthan. Hope this sceme will not go like last scemes and IT Parks announced by him.
