BJP Candidate Ashok Sahu arrested

BJP Candidate Ashok sahu from Kandhmal arrested for hate speech. Ashok Sahu was arrested while addressing a rally in Phulbani. The BJP candidate has been booked for delivering an hate speech at a public meeting in the region where 38 people, most of them Christians, were killed during communal violence in 2008. Sahu made the provocative speech at a public meeting at Raikia town on April 5. He allegedly accused the Church of indulging in conversion.
EC asked to add two more sections 505 and 295 under IPC which define the place of worship and statement to create public mischief. Recently there was communal violence after the murder of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati and four of his aides at his ashram on August 23, 2008.
