Fake Bomb threat creates panic in Jaipur

The news of a possible blast on the stretch between Chandpole and Ramganj on Wednesday spread like wildfire in the Walled City, forcing many shopkeepers to close shops in the morning. Many of them, who had just opened their shops, headed home fearing some untoward incident. Those who were not aware of the threat, came to know about it when they heard police making announcements requesting people to remain alert. They also saw sniffer dogs and cops armed with metal detectors moving around in the area. It was not before noon that the situation returned to normal. But as the caller had threatened that the bombs could explode anytime till eight in the evening, the threat preyed on people’s mind.
Panic prevailed at Sanganer airport in the city when an Air India flight from Mumbai to Jaipur received a call saying that the plane would be blown-off at Jaipur airport on Wednesday. Nearly 100 passengers of IC-611 flight were stranded for more than 30 minutes in the plane before they were disembarked and escorted to the terminal. The drama began as soon as the plane touched the ground in Jaipur when one passenger shouted that there was a bomb in the plane, who claimed to have learnt it from his relative at the airport,” said Aristedes Pasarnala, a Canadian national travelling in the plane. Finally this news is declared fake and police is looking for people behind suck rumours.
