Gujrat CM and BJP Leader Narendra Modi target Congress at Ludhiyana rally. Marking his strong presence in the NDA rally, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi hit back at Rahul Gandhi saying that Congress is playing vote bank politics on the order of executing Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru. Addressing a huge rally in Ludhiana, Modi said that Guru is in a death row queue is the most ridiculous thing I have heard. "I want to tell you that the Congress is befooling people on this issue. The Congress is sitting on the order to hang him," Modi said. "Out of 29 persons who are on death row, cases of 26 have been processed and only three cases including that of Afzal Guru are pending," he added.
Criticising Karunanidhi for his fast on the Tamil issue he said that it has been the shortest fast ever in the history. Modi’s remarks were a clear indication of NDA showing a tilt towards AIADMK. Modi also said that UPA is insensitive to the sufferings of Tamils in Sri Lanka and more concerned about letting off Italian businessman Ottavio Quattrocchi, a suspect in the Bofors payoff case. "This is one election where the prime ministerial candidate is not even contesting polls," Modi said, taking a dig at Manmohan Singh who is a Rajya Sabha member.
